What is the pH value of alkaline water compared to tap water?
Tap water usually has a largely neutral pH value of about 7, but the exact pH value varies from region to region - you can ask your local waterworks for it.
Filtration with our cartridge for Balanced Alkalized Water increases the pH value of the water to about 8 to 9 (depending on the pH value of the input water as well as the water hardness).
Can I drink too much alkaline water?
It is actually not possible for you to drink too much alkaline water. Our filter is designed in such a way that the pH value is in a range that cannot have any negative influence on the body.
The daily water requirement of an adult is about two to three litres.
How can I measure whether my water is alkaline?
In principle, the pH value of the water can be determined with commercially available pH meters or with test strips - here the results are somewhat less accurate.
You can find out how high the pH value of your water is in test reports from your waterworks.
How is the pH value increased during filtration?
The pH value of the water is increased by a special procedure that takes place in the filter during the filtration process. In addition, the BWT filter cartridge for Balanced Alkalized Water reduces the content of heavy metals such as lead or copper as well as taste-impairing substances such as chlorine in the water.
Can I also use alkaline water to prepare tea, coffee or food?
Alkaline water can be used to prepare tea, coffee and food. Compared to our other filter technologies, however, it should be noted that the cartridge for Balanced Alkalized Water does not provide limescale protection for appliances such as coffee machines or kettles.
Is the alkaline water also suitable for feeding babies and small children?
There are no restrictions on the use of alkaline water - it is suitable for all age groups.
Our general recommendation is to boil the tap water for babies before use. This also applies to any other water treated with BWT table water filters.
The same applies to groups of people with a limited immune system. Here, too, we recommend that the water be boiled before use.
How much alkaline water must I drink to balance the acidity in my body?
Alkaline water helps to counteract hyperacidity of the body.
However, drinking alkaline water is no substitute for a conscious, balanced diet.
What positive effects does alkaline water have on the body?
The human body tends to over-acidify easily, for example, through incorrect nutrition. Alkaline water helps the body to compensate for this excess acidity.
What do I do with the used filter cartridge?
Always observe local disposal regulations!
Filter cartridges and filter filling: Dispose of exhausted filter cartridges and filter fillings in household waste.
Packaging material: If locally possible, dispose of foils and cardboard boxes in the waste separation system. This helps to protect the environment.
Table water filter system: If locally possible, feed the table water filter system into the waste separation system. This helps to protect the environment.
The Easy-Control change indicator is an electronic component that must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations and statutory provisions. The change indicator can be removed from the lid using a screwdriver attached to the edge of the Easy-Control. The Easy-Control should only be removed from the lid during disposal.
